It's been so long since I have felt "at home" that I am not really sure what having a home and family feels like. It's been years. Since I was married actually. That was 22years ago. The sad part is that I took it for granted. I never thought about it. Now that I don't have either a home or a family it's all I can think about. I mean I have had places that I call "home", but I don't feel like I did when I was a kid and had a home. It's hard to describe that feeling. It's a confidence unmatched by anything..You can live in a million dollar mansion and not feel "at home".It's been so difficult for me this week. I was so incredibly happy on Tuesday, thinking that finally Mark and I were going to be a family with Grace and that I would finally not just have a place to live but that I would finally once again have a true honest to God "home". The world was at my feet, and I was ready to take on anything. I could have conquered the world. I feel as if the rug has once again been snatched out from under me. I love him so much it hurts. I am so going to miss sneaking a peek at Grace in the middle of the night as she slept. Being their every day with her. Finally, I had my baby back. I already miss waking up beside Mark(I have been sleeping on the couch because I can hardly look him in the eye after what he has done much less lay with him), and holding hands as we fell asleep...to me THAT was coming home. I can't believe this nightmare. I wish I would wake up like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. Because there really is: No place like home.
